About: 41-year-old El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Hopkins died on April 2, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. Sheriff's Office issued a release stating that Hopkins' death was determined to be a line of duty death. He was serving at the jail's intake when he had confirmed exposure to other employees who were symptomatic and later confirmed to have COVID-19. Deputy Hopkins had served with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for 20 years. He is survived by his wife and parents.
